May 1-3, 2003, SARM was the host facility for the annual Southern Railway Historical Association convention.
On Friday, May 2, we hosted an area tour with stops at the TVA Kingston power plant, Franklin Limestone in Crab Orchard, and the Oliver Springs library in the old Southern depot. That evening, we operated a special dinner train over our railroad.
On Saturday, May 3, we operated a special trip for the SRHA members over our regular excursion route, which was operated by Southern Railway for many years. On Sunday, May 4, we operated a charter that covered the entire Knoxville & Holston River, a former Southern Railway industrial line in Knoxville, Tennessee.
